Vedder mountain ramble

Took a trip up to Vedder Mountain today....another of my old "stomping grounds" that I don't visit much anymore because of its popularity.
On any given weekend, the place is crawling with MTB's...quads...dirt bikes...and hikers, so I try to avoid it.
I needed to get out for another ride today (after yesterday's disappointment) but wanted to try something old/new.

A ride to Sumas Mountain.

The weather looked decent, so I took a trek to an old stomping ground of yore.
Sumas Mountain has very little to offer in terms of off-roading, but I thought I'd check it out one more time.

A Plan that didn't work out...

My plans for today were changed as I neared my the same condition that grips our country and most of this world.
Even as the restrictions are "eased" there are some things that we are not allowed to do...and it doesn't always make sense.
Why is it that I could go hiking with 50 other people, but not ride to a remote location, by myself?

That was my issue about it HERE.

Full circle

Yesterday, while riding through the Voght Valley, I was noticing an off-idle stumble every now and then.
Today I tried fiddling with the mixture screw, to try and eliminate it...but was unsuccessful.
After dinner, I took an evening ride and experienced the same stumble.

While I was driving home, I thought of the other bikes I had owned and how some were so easy to dial in (XT225) while others were an absolute nightmare (Super Sherpa) and then made a decision while going from westbound to eastbound, over Highway #1.

When I got home, I removed the entire ProCycle jet kit and reverted back to stock jetting, with the mixture screw 2 ½ turns out.
Once I had her back together, I hit the starter and she jumped to life and purred like a kitten.
Yeah...I think I'll stay this way...for the extra ¼ HP gain, the potential headaches aren't worth it.

Now, the PC jet kit hangs from a nail over my workbench, alongside the jet kit I purchased for the DR650.

Voght Valley ride.

Took a day trip up to Shea, Boss and Davis lakes on May 08, 2020.
I've been meaning to check out the area for a while...glad I did.

Check it out HERE.
